Social Committee Breakdown
The NetRefer social committee will be an advisory group representing employees in the formulation of the yearly corporate events calendar and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The committee are responsible for submitting proposals for NetRefer’s social events across the year, from summer and Christmas parties to year-round fundraisers.
Responsibilities
The committee contributes to the overall success and effectiveness of social events and CSR initiatives within the business
Members are tasked with identifying events and activities that enhance the social environment of the workplace and promote staff engagement.
These events and activities will promote fellowship among employees, provide entertaining and casual ways for cultivating relationships among co-workers, and encourage teambuilding between employees who might normally not have the opportunity to work together.
The committee will accomplish its responsibilities through the development of its own ideas, use of employee feedback and through consolation with the Facilities Manager. They will deliver a high-level plan of ideas for NetRefer to consider in accordance to budget allocations. They will also be responsible for gathering feedback from employees after each initiative to understand what the successes were and potential improvements to consider for future events.
At the end of each calendar year, the chair will work with the member to compile an annual report which will provide a synopsis of the committee’s work including activities, accomplishments, status updates for on-going projects, and recommendations for the up- coming year.
Members
The team members will constitute of five (5) elected employee representatives and the Facilities Manager. 1 of which is already in the Facilities team and this role is part of her job specs.
Members will not be expected to work after working hours but during their shifted hours. This is unless out of office hours are requested by the Facilities Manager due to an event taking place and help being required.
Appointment of Employee Representatives;
Staff will be nominated/elected at the start of every new calendar year and will remain part of the committee until the end of that year. In the case that someone opts out due to them being unable to perform their duties or resigning, the Facilities Manager will decide if to reopen nominations for the vacant position or if to remain with the current remaining team. This will be dependent on the period and outstanding work.
In cases where the nominations exceed the number of employee representative positions, NetRefer will open a ballot for all employees to vote for their preferred representative.
In case of a tie, the casting vote will be that of the Facilities Manager.
Responsibility of employee representatives;
- Attend meetings as arranged by the Facilities Manager.
- Canvas staff to determine events and programs of current/popular interest.
- Promote participation and engagement.
- Initiate and organize social events responding to suggestions of popular interest and enjoyment from the membership.
- Obtain and evaluate staff feedback relating to events and activities scheduled, to be communicated/discussed
- The Facilities team member/social committee representative is required to take minutes/action points and share these with the team after every team meeting.
