Svetlin Celebrates 5 Years as the Man Behind Data Analysis at NetRefer

Svetlin Iliev, NetRefer’s Senior Performance Monitoring Analyst, is celebrating his 5th year at NetRefer. We’re taking this opportunity to shine the spotlight on Svetlin as a long-term contributor to NetRefer’s ongoing success.
Bulgarian by birth, Svetlin pursued academic studies at University Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov, Bulgaria, where he graduated in Chemical Engineering. Skills learned in the hard sciences such as mathematics, research & analytical acumen, project management and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, were the stepping stones for Svetlin to transition into IT.
Driven by this new career path Svetlin looked beyond Bulgaria, into emerging career opportunities, halfway around the world in South Africa. Here he began his career in IT as a Software Developer at Alexander Forbes, one of Africa’s leading financial services organisations. During his 15 years of dedication to the company, Svetlin continued to gain experience and achieved several career milestones, to become Group Software Development Manager.
Europe was always close to Svetlin’s heart. So when an opportunity arose at NetRefer, in sunny Malta, he applied. With 20+ years of experience and know-how, a seasoned veteran in his own right, he was well-positioned to take up the challenging new role of Development Manager.

His serene and friendly demeanour proved to be a perfect match with the warm corporate atmosphere at NetRefer. Just, two years into this role, he found himself transcending into a new position – that of Performance Monitoring Analyst. A position which C-Level specifically created so that Svetlin could unleash his potential and create Company initiatives and reach milestones.
Svetlin’s primary responsibility of gathering, analysing and processing data for internal departments has led him to take on recent projects such as migrating Jira and Confluence – two company-wide used tools – to the cloud. At the same time, he’s also involved in departmental KPI implementation, including back-end systems reconfiguration, optimisation, automation and finally focusing on Power BI to deliver better data insights.
He expresses confidence in NetRefer’s approach stating that this will accelerate product modernisation and development of new ones, bringing with it opportunities to expand into new verticals. Ever-growing and pushing himself, Svetlin is a seasoned authority in his field and a true asset to the company, who for the last five years, has fulfilled a key role in driving NetRefer to more success. Here’s to many more years of great achievements together.
If you’re a Performance Monitoring Analyst guru, or you’d love to work side-by-side and be mentored by a seasoned vet such as Svetlin, with volumes of experience and inspiration to share, take a look at our Careers Page and get in touch with us today!
